Nortel Lanes International Bowling Karaoke SuperStar Contest

Nortel Lanes is proud to sponsor the "International Bowling Karaoke Superstar Contest!" The contest will start on Friday, January 22, 2010. One winner will be chosen each night over a 16-week period. Nightly winners will receive the opportunity to compete in the Nortel Lanes Semi-Finals on Thursday, May 13, 2010. The Nortel Lanes Finals will occur on Friday, May 14, 2010.

The winner of the Nortel Lanes Finals will receive a trip to Las Vegas, NV, including air fare and hotel accoomodations for the International Semi-Finals on Sunday, June 27, 2010. The International Finals will occur on Monday, June 28, 2010 in Las Vegas.

The prizes for the winners of the "International Bowling Karaoke Superstar Contest" in Las Vegas shall be as follows:

1st Prize - $5000 and the opportunity to perform before the featured act at Club Xpo in Las Vegas on June 29, 2010.

2nd Prize - $2000 / 3rd Prize - $1000

Rules

1. You must be at least 21 years old to enter the contest. You may be asked to present ID.
2. There will be a $5.00 per night fee for each contest you enter, to defer cost of running competition.
3. This is an individual singer competition. No duets will be allowed.
4. Professional Compact Disc + Graphics (CDG's) will be used as background tracks in the contest. A contestant may use their own CDGs or may use the library provided by D.J. & Music Inc. No regular CD's w/vocals may be used.
5. there must be at least two (2) contestants in order to conduct a contest.
6. The contest will consist of two (2) rounds, therefore, you should be prepared to sing two songs. We also ask that you choose a third alternate song. If time permits, non-contestants will be allowed to sing between the contest rounds.
7. Judging Procedure: In the preliminary rounds of the contest (the first 16 weeks), contestants will be judged on three criteria: Vocal Ability, Showmanship and Audience Response. The Karaoke Host will rate each contestant in each of the three (3) categories on a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being the best). The contestants with the highest score will be deemed the nightly winner. The NIGHTLY WINNER's PRIZE will be the opportunity to compete in the Nortel Lanes Semi-Finals. To protect the integrity of the Karaoke Host, the judging form will not be shown to any of the contestants or customers.
8. Round 1 of the contest will start (approximately) between 10:00-10:30 pm. The 2nd Round will start (approximately) between 12:00-12:30am. However, it is suggested that contestants arrive early so they have an opportunity to sing 1 or 2 "warm up" songs.
9. Due to the fact that the audience's response is also considered in the judging of the contest, you are encouraged to invite family and friends to the contest to support you. Judging in the Semi-Final and Finals competition will be done by an independent panel of judges only. (NO audience response).
10. D.J. Music, Inc. cleans and maintains its equipment on a regular basis. In the unlikely event that a contest song will not cue or skips, the Host will re-clean the disc and restart the song. If the problem persists, and all attempts to correct the problem have failed, the Host will instruct the contestant to ue their alternate song.
11. The PURPOSE of the contest is to have fun! Please do not take it too seriously. A scondary purpose of this contest is to increase sales for Nortel Lanes. Please encourage your yourself, your friends, and your supporters to spend money in this establishment.
12. If you do not understand the purpose of this contest (described in item #11 above) and/or if you do not understand or agree to comply by the method of judging in this contest, you are encouraged not to enter.
